Enhancing Partner Capacity
The Partnership currently employs a staff of seven, including the Executive Director. Meanwhile, there are 60,000 Central Oregonians living in poverty. In order to make a significant impact in spite of such numbers, The Partnership must significantly leverage its resources. The Partnership believes that leverage does not flow from becoming a large organization, rather it is dictated by the size of our networks and their ability to help us through leveraging their own resources.
The best way to increase our networks and enhance their ability to reduce poverty comes from strengthening, and thereby increasing, our partner’s capacity. There are four strategies by which we do this:
- Convene partners to leverage greater results
- Encouraged re-opening of housing voucher wait list for smaller cities in Central Oregon
- Leverage resources
- Ongoing conversations with foundations and community resources
- Create ongoing educational opportunities for partners
- Support partners through strategic engagement
- Support La Pine Kitchen Community Development Grant
- Created photography class for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon and Kids Club of Prineville
