Partnership to End Poverty E-Newsletter
Thriving Communities, January 2012
January is Poverty in America Awareness Month
The Partnership is once again using the occasion of Poverty in America Awareness Month as a perfect opportunity to bring to light the complicated nature of poverty. Poverty has not been "solved" in the last 40 years because there is no one "silver bullet" that can lift tens of millions of Americans to economic stability. The many issues take many solutions - not the least of which is all of us being aware of them. Visit our website to see a daily fact and simple way to help. Or "friend" us on Facebook and get them sent directly to you.
Free Tax Clinics Open February 1
The Partnership will once again offer free tax preparation clinics from February 1 to April 15 across Central Oregon. Certified volunteers will help those who need assistance to electronically file both Federal and State tax returns for FREE and, as eligible, claim tax refunds that benefit local families and the local economy.
