Bend is the largest community in Central Oregon and the regional economic hub. It is the County seat of Deschutes County. The population of Bend is 77,181. The unincorporated community of Tumalo and several recreational resorts are near Bend. Bend is also the home of Central Oregon Community College and the Oregon State University Cascades Branch Campus.  The "world class" St. Charles Medical Center is also in Bend. Bend is the jumping off point for accessing the Deschutes National Forest, Deschutes River, and skiing at majestic Mt. Bachelor resort.
